Real Living ("we," "us," "our") operates www.reallivinghomes.ca, a mobile app for browsing Edmonton real estate listings. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Phone number — if you create an account, we use your phone number to sign you in via a one-time text code. We do not require a password.
- Booking details — if you request a showing, we collect your name, phone number, and email address to arrange it, and to send you a confirmation.
- Preferences and favourites — your budget, preferred neighbourhoods, bedroom/bathroom filters, and saved (favourited) homes. These are currently stored on your own device (in your browser's local storage), not on our servers, unless you're signed in to a synced account.
- Messages — if you message us in the app, we receive the content of that message so we can respond.
- Basic usage data — such as how many times you've visited, so we can show relevant prompts (for example, suggesting you create an account after a few visits).
How we use your information
- To operate the swipe/search experience and remember your preferences.
- To arrange showings and respond to your questions.
- To send price-drop alerts and status updates on homes you've favourited, if you've opted in and created an account.
- To improve Real Living and understand how it's used.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information to third parties.
- We don't share your contact details with listing agents or brokerages without your request (e.g., booking a showing).
Listing data
Property listings displayed in Real Living are sourced from the CREA Data Distribution Facility (DDF®). Listing data, including photos and pricing, is licensed from participating real estate boards and is not independently verified by Real Living. Mortgage estimates shown are illustrative only, based on assumed down payment, interest rate, and amortization — they are not a mortgage offer or pre-approval.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences, favourites, and visit count on this device, and to hold the visitor ID described below. Google Analytics, which we use to count visits, sets its own cookies. We don't use advertising cookies.
Website activity and follow-up
This site loads a small script from Pulse, the client-management system we use to handle enquiries. It records the pages you view here, when, and the page that sent you, under a random ID kept in your browser's local storage. It does not set cookies.
When you submit a form, request a showing or create an account, the email address you give — and your name and phone number, if you give them — is saved in Pulse and linked to that ID. From then on your visits to this site are connected to your contact record, and if you have also contacted us through one of our other websites, those records are combined. We use this to follow up on your request and to understand which homes and areas interest you. Links in emails we send you can also identify you to this script when you click them.
Pulse runs on servers in the United States. This information is not sold or shared with other businesses. To stop the tracking, clear this site's data in your browser or browse in a private window; to have your record and browsing history deleted, contact us below.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time from your profile, which clears your locally stored data on that device. To request deletion of any information we hold about you, contact us below.
